Shadow Equipment Quest Line & Refinement

1. Event Overview

Quest Structure
A linear quest line. Each completed step grants a specific piece of Shadow Equipment.
Limit
Once per character (No reset).

2. Step 1: Observe the World Tree

Instructions: Interact with 3 dark-aura investigation points around the tree to find clues, then report back to the Inspector.

Investigation Point Clue / Answer Keyword
Point 1 Found black scorch marks
Point 2 Found dried and withered bark
Point 3 Found signs of the tree being chopped

3. Step 2: Explore the Well of Wisdom

Location
  • Go to Mimisbrunnr and search for boxes in the area.
  • Open boxes until you find the correct box for your character (Randomized per player).
  • Return to the Inspector to complete the step.
Reward: [Event] World Tree Shadow Shield (x1)

4. Step 3: The Missing Guardian

  • Talk to the Inspector, then find the Weary Valkyrie.
  • Go to the World Boss area (near Yggdrasill) and interact with Heimdalr’s Sword to retrieve it.
  • Return the sword to the Weary Valkyrie.

5. Step 4: Rift of Niflheim

Travel to the Rift area and interact with the objective. A text input box will appear.

By the power of the World Tree
That spreads across all the lands
Please extend your branches in protection
And grant all living things shade and peace

NOTE : Please respond one sentence at a time.

Reward: [Event] World Tree Shadow Weapon (x1)

6. Step 5: The Betrayal

Complete the final conversation with Weary Valkyrie, then report back to Yggdrasil Inspector to finish the quest line.

Rewards:
[Event] World Tree Shadow Pendant (x1)
[Event] World Tree Shadow Earrings (x1)

*Note: After this step, the Valkyrie NPC will disappear. Use the Inspector for any future Shadow equipment needs.

7. Equipment Summary

Completing the quest grants the full set. All items are obtained directly via quest progression (no RNG boxes).

Usage Notes

  • World Tree Shadow equipment is obtained once per character.
  • All pieces are tied to quest completion and cannot be skipped.
  • Equipment effects activate when the corresponding Shadow slots are equipped.
  • No Zeny cost is required to receive the equipment.

8. Refinement: World Tree Shadow Equipment

Refining World Tree Shadow Equipment requires Yggdrasil Coins instead of Adamantine Blessing.

Critical Warning
If a refinement attempt for any World Tree Shadow equipment fails, the item will be destroyed. There is no downgrade protection.

*Note: The [Event] World Tree Shadow Weapon uses Oridecon and cannot use special ores.
